Tell us about the film
The film is about a relationship between brother
and sister. It is a snapshot of the troubles that exist in their relationship.
The event that creates this moment of tension between them is the death of River
Phoenix.
What first interested you in making about River Phoenix? What was your aim
in the film?
I wanted to do the film because I really touched by the delicate way the story
had been drawn in the script.
I thought it was unusual and a bit special. I also had seen some of Angus' plays
and knew he would direct it well.
Were you a River Phoenix fan? If yes, why? What is your favourite of his
films?
Not a fan, as such, but I had seen 'Stand by Me' and 'My Own Private
Idaho' and saw that he had a lot of power on screen.
Do you remember when he died, how you heard about it/ felt about it?
I remember when he died. I remember my older sister being affected by it
but I was still quite young and living in the country, a long way from the rest
of the world.
Is River in the film? If yes, who plays him or how do you portray him?
I play Blair. She works in the city and is ambitious and successful. She
takes her job seriously. But she loves her brother and tries to cross the
divides between them.
What was the best and worst bit of making the film?
My favorite bit was on the tube with all the people traveling home from
the pub - it was fun. The worst? Running! Never been a great love of mine!
